ToZero-Discharge (TZD) rinsing technology developed by kolb

The TZD rinsing technology developed by kolb is a complex, multi-stage rinsing process technology for the first rinsing cycle in a three- or two-tank batch system.

Rinsing (almost) without rinsing water consumption
kolb TZD cleaning systems have up to 5 separate tank circuits: the cleaning circuit (TA), the two (TB1, TB2) or three TZD rinsing circuits (TB1, TB2, TB3) for municipal water, and the rinse cycle (TC) for DI water with an integrated WPCL IU unit for recycling rinse water containing heavy metals. In this configuration, a kolb AQUBE X7 TZD five-tank cleaning system, for example, saves up to 90% rinse water compared to standard systems with three tank cycles. The average rinse water consumption is reduced to up to 3 liters per cycle.

TZD technology explained simply
In contrast to the classic method with a single rinsing stage for municipal water for the first rinse, this system uses software-controlled multi-stage rinsing technology with two or three rinsing cycles (depending on the system) and a counter-flow cascading water exchange process. Thanks to the cascaded exchange within these rinsing stages, when the alternating load is reached, it is no longer necessary to dispose of all the rinse water, as is generally the case, but only the rinse water from the first, most heavily loaded stage. The rinse water from the cleaner stages is then pumped “forward,” and only the last tank is refilled with fresh rinsing water.
