WaterSave – Separate Rinse and Final Rinse Tanks
Separate Rinse and Final Rinse
In systems with a single rinse tank, the same water is used for both the initial rinse and the final rinse. Because the initial rinse removes most of the detergent residues, the water must be replaced before the final rinse. This means at least two tank fills per cycle.
Systems with WaterSave technology use two separate water tanks. The first rinse tank absorbs the detergent residues and is typically refilled after every cycle. As a result, the final rinse tank stays clean and typically only needs to be changed after 10 to 15 cycles.
The Math
With identical tank sizes, rinse water consumption per cycle is as follows:
- System with a single rinse tank: 2 tank fills
- WaterSave system: approx. 1.1 tank fills
This translates to savings of about 45%. The exact figure depends on the cleaning application, drag-out, and the selected conductivity limit.
Tank System Instead of Open Loop
Open-loop systems work like a dishwasher: for every cycle, fresh water is let in, heated, and then completely drained. In WaterSave systems, the rinse water stays in the system and is filtered. This saves both fresh water and wastewater and shortens cycle times by eliminating fill times. At the same time, process conditions remain stable and well-documented, because conductivity is known at all times.
For Even Higher Requirements
If you want to reduce water consumption even further, ToZero-Discharge offers a five-tank rinse process with up to 90% less rinse water compared to standard systems with three tank circuits.
