kolb Cleaning Technology has recently been doing research in the field of process engineering in cooperation with the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences. Under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Shichang Wang, students from the university from the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering and the SWK E² Institute for Energy Technology & Energy Management work together with the kolb process experts in two project groups on innovative processes in the field of cleaning and wastewater management.
The Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences has always been closely networked with local industry and potential employers, enabling students to work on practical projects in industry or alternative study formats with industrial partners. The SWK E² Institute for Energy Technology and Energy Management offers interdisciplinary research and teaching competence in the field of energy by professors with different focuses from the different departments of the university. The research focus is in the area of analysis and optimization of energy systems and processes from both a technical and an economic perspective.
The first project results were presented by the two project groups on January 17 and 18 at the "Engineers' Day" at the University. Due to patent applications, however, some interesting results had to be withheld.
